Fire-retardant fabric, 1.2 x 1 m
A fire blanket is the best way to extinguish a small fire.
A fire is caused by three factors – combustible material, heat and oxygen. A fire is extinguished by removing at least one of these three components. In this case, the fire is put out by cutting off the oxygen supply using the fire-resistant cloth.
The blanket, made of non-flammable glass fibre, is packed in a special bag and has straps attached to make it more convenient for domestic use. A fire blanket is the very best way to extinguish a fire caused by burning fat, but it can also be used to put out fires involving household appliances or clothing that has caught fire.
